JEE News reported that star all-rounder and former captain Shahid Shah Afridi has called himself the half father-in-law of Pakistan cricket team fast bowler Shaheen Afridi.
Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi was first ruled out of the Asia Cup, then the home series against England and later the ongoing triangular series in New Zealand due to injury.
Cricket fans are worried about Shaheen’s injury ahead of the T20 WC scheduled next week in October, so Shahid Afridi was asked about his health and the former captain’s answer made everyone laugh.
While talking to private TV, Shahid Afridi replied that I am not Shaheen’s doctor but I am his half father-in-law at the moment.
Afridi further said that after coming from America, he was just resting and did not get time to read his messages.
“Shaheen messaged me about his health but I couldn’t reply. However, he was feeling better but his fitness is very important,” he said.
When will Shaheen Afridi join the national squad?
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed that Shaheen Shah Afridi will join the national squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Australia 2022 in Brisbane as scheduled on Saturday (October 15).
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said the decision was taken after the star player underwent a rehabilitation program under the supervision of the PCB Medical Advisory Committee.
“I am very excited at the prospect of joining the national team again for the T20 World Cup and playing my part in the campaign. It has been difficult for me to be away from the game and the team I love the most, and No, be a part of some tough and exciting matches,” said Shaheen.
