The producer of the blockbuster Punjabi film Moolah Jat believes that his remake of the classic has brought the audience to the edge of their seats – The Legend of Moolah Jat does not reflect Punjabi culture at all.

Released in 1979, the film Maula Jat changed the course of the Pakistani film industry due to its dialogues and characters, besides the film’s cinematography also highlighted the rural culture of Punjab.

Although the theme and story of The Legend of Mula Jatt is derived from Mula Jatt, several changes have been made to the story.

Producer of the original Maula Jat, raised some relevant questions while reminiscing about the 1979 classic.

Styling In The Legend of Maula Jatt
Bhatti expressed disappointment over the costumes and styling of the cast in the remake, saying that Punjabi culture was nowhere depicted in the film’s trailer.

He said that after watching the trailer, I felt that these characters belong to a barbarian kingdom. The costumes in The Legend of Moolah Jat are similar to those of the characters in the Indian film Baahubali.

Sarwar Bhatti added that he himself bought the clothes for the original Moula Jatt characters, which were designed by the dress master of his company Bahu Films Corporation.

Legal Action Against TLOMJ
During the interview, the Mela producer also shed light on the controversy surrounding The Legend of Moolah Jat and why he approached the court against Bilal Lashari’s directorial.

He said that the filmmakers did not take their permission when they started making this film. “That is why I decided to take legal action,” he added.

He added that the High Court and the Intellectual Property Tribunal (IPT) ruled in his favor as he owned the 1979 model. Sarwar Bhatti said that the tribunal ruled in my favor regarding the trademark of the film.

After a legal quagmire that lasted 28 months, the producers of the remake finally sought his permission.

Bhatti said that I own all the rights of the film Moula Jatt and I have given permission to use only the dialogues. They can only use dialogues in the film. This will not affect my copyrights.”

Is TLOMJ Sequel of Maula Jatt?
Asked if The Legend of Moolah Jat is a sequel to his 1979 classic film, Bhatti replied, “There is no sequel to Moolah Jat, although several films have been made with the names of the characters such as ‘Nuri Nath’. ‘, ‘Jatt’. In London, ‘Vahshi Jatt’ etc.
