KARACHI: Pak Suzuki Motors on Thursday announced that it will stop its production for three days
The automobile company said that operations at the automobile plant will remain suspended from October 24 to October 26, 2022.
The company said that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) through a circular dated May 20, 2022 has introduced a mechanism for pre-approval of imports under HS code 8703 category (including CKDs).
“The restrictions adversely affected clearance of import consignments which in turn affected inventory levels,” it said.
Therefore, “Due to low inventory levels, the management of the company has decided to shut down the automobile plant from October 24, 2022 to October 26, 2022. However, the motorcycle plant will remain operational.”
OEMs are facing short production days due to inventory shortage.
The company had announced to stop its production from September 8 to 9 last month.
