As the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced the disqualification of PTI chief Imran Khan in the Tosha Khana case, the Chief Ministers of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa empowered Imran Khan to dissolve their respective assemblies, JEE News reported.
After the decision of ECP in the Tosha Khana case, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of PTI Chairman Imran Khan in which the current political situation of the country was discussed.
According to sources, most of the PTI leaders agreed to dissolve the Punjab and KP assemblies, but the final decision will be taken by the party chief.
According to the sources, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan and Chief Minister Punjab Pervaiz Elahi also participated in the meeting through video link and gave the authority to the former prime minister to dissolve the provincial assemblies.
During the meeting, both the chief ministers said that whenever Imran Khan asks them to do so, they will dissolve the assemblies.
According to the PTI leader, dissolving the provincial assemblies is more important than the long march because the objective of the long march is fresh elections.
The PTI leader said that, therefore, if the assemblies are dissolved, new elections will have to be announced.

In a major legal victory for the ruling coalition, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday disqualified former Prime Minister Imran Khan in a unanimous decision in the Tosha Khana reference and ruled that the PTI chairman is no longer a member of the National Assembly. .
The verdict said that criminal action will be taken against the PTI chairman for false statements.
The ECP said Imran Khan submitted a false affidavit and was found guilty of corruption under Article 63(1)(p).
Under the said article, a legislator is temporarily disqualified from being elected or elected as a member of Majlis Shura (Parliament) or Provincial Assembly.
This decision was unanimously given by the five-member bench of ECP, however, Punjab member Babar Hasan Bharwana did not appear today due to unwellness.
“Considering our aforesaid findings, the facts available on record and the arguments of the learned counsel for the parties herein, we are of the opinion that the respondent has been disqualified under Article 63(1)(p) of the Constitution. Elections Act.” , read with Sections 137, 167 and 173 of 2017, consequently he ceases to be a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan and his seat is accordingly vacated,” the ECP order said.
“Since the respondent has made false statements and false declarations, he has also committed the offense of corruption under Sections 167 and 173 of the Elections Act, 2017, which under Section 174 of the Elections Act, 2017. is punishable. To initiate legal proceedings under Section 190(2) of the Election Act, 2017 and to take follow-up action.”
