Indian Captain Rohit Sharma Broke his Silence on Pakistan Tour Controversy

Melbourne: Indian captain Rohit Sharma reacted to the off-field tension between the Pakistan and Indian cricket boards after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided not to tour Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup. expressed.

On Tuesday, BCCI secretary Jay Shah unilaterally announced that India will not tour Pakistan for the Asian event. Shah also said that the board would insist on a neutral venue for the tournament.

Talking about the ongoing issue, Rohit said that it will be decided by the BCCI. “We are now focusing on the T20 World Cup,” he said.

The captain said that he is hoping for a complete match against Pakistan tomorrow (October 23). The match is expected to be affected by rain as the Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Melbourne on Sunday.

“Pakistan’s bowling is very good and can be challenging for us, but our batting is also good,” he added.

“We have to focus on bowling and fielding to win the match,” Rohit said, adding that it was important to work on the flaws after the disgrace of the last World Cup.

Talking about the Pakistan team, he said that the current squad is very challenging as the team played well in the World Cup and Asia Cup.
