The Judicial Commission of Pakistan on Monday recommended the appointment of three new judges to the Supreme Court.
The meeting of the commission was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandial.
The names of Justice Shahid Waheed, Justice Athar Minullah and Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi were discussed in the meeting.
The names of Justice Shahid Waheed and Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi were approved by majority vote while the name of Justice Athar Manullah was approved by consensus.
The Judicial Commission postponed the voting on the name of Justice Shafi Siddiqui due to which no consensus could be reached in the forum.
The shortlisted names will be sent to the Parliamentary Committee for approval.
