The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Thursday registered a corruption case against the Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Islamabad.
The police chief will be arrested immediately on reaching Punjab.
The IGP of the federal capital is accused of causing a loss of Rs 35 million to the exchequer.
The establishment spokesperson said that Islamabad IGP Akbar Nasir Khan is guilty of misappropriation of public funds and thus a corruption case has been registered against him.
