PTI is Planning to Bring Arms in Long March: Rana Sanaullah

LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Saturday accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan of planning to create chaos in the federal capital through his long march. He referred to the alleged leaked audio of Ali Amin Gandapur. One can hear talk of bringing arms on the long march.

While addressing the press conference, Sanaullah released an audio leak from Gandapur in which he can be heard talking to an unknown person about bringing arms and ammunition.

The interior minister claimed that according to the preliminary investigation, the details of the conversation have been preserved by the ministry. However, he refused to reveal the identity of the unidentified person who allegedly spoke to the PTI leader. In response to a question, Sanaullah said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government should immediately arrest Gandapur and the unknown person.

He also said that all the information has also been shared with the Punjab government, urging it to crack down on the mob immediately. He asserted that if the chief secretary and the inspector general failed to arrest these people, the responsibility would fall on them.

The home minister termed Khan’s behavior as “undemocratic” and said the PTI chief’s intentions were not good. We kept saying that Imran Khan’s temptation wants to mislead the nation. “Khan wants people to die instead of doing the long march,” Sanaullah said, accusing him of planning to destroy and divide the country.

The minister added that the PTI chief “planned to wreak havoc and create division in the country and wanted to kill innocent workers of his own party to blame the law enforcement agencies”.

Sanaullah said the former prime minister was a “shameless” person who did not care about how he was harming the country, and that he had blamed his “foreign conspiracy” and “governance”. He recalled the stories of “change”.

Sanaullah urged the nation to realize Khan’s true intentions, which is to create chaos in the country.

“If the government takes action against this person [Khan] – who doesn’t believe in the constitution and democracy – people should not raise objections,” he said, reiterating that the coalition government in the federal capital and residents of every Will protect at cost.

The minister said that if Gandapur was in Islamabad, he would have been arrested.

They will not allow Khan’s plot to succeed, Sanaullah added, and will react against the Long March.

He revealed that a 13-member committee has been formed to look into the situation arising during the long march of PTI. He also urged Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi to take notice of the emerging situation.

A 13-member committee was formed under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah regarding the long march issue.

The committee has been formed to ensure that the Long March is peaceful and political negotiations take place. “If anyone wants to negotiate with regard to the march, they will negotiate with the committee.”

According to reports, the committee includes Minister for Economic Affairs Ayaz Sadiq, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Advisor to the Prime Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, MQMP convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, ANP leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Minister for Communications Asad Mehmood and Minister for Information. Maryam Nawaz included.

Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that the real march will start from today (Sunday) as he believes that the federal government has formed a frivolous committee to include the Azadi March.

On Saturday, PTI’s long march from Shahdara reached Ferozwala under the leadership of Imran. The march will resume its journey from Kamonki on Sunday.

Addressing the participants of the long march, Khan said that I have only come to tell what freedom is, a slave becomes a good slave while free men rule the world.

He demanded Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandyal to protect fundamental rights and take action against PTI leader Azam Swati’s ‘security violence’.

Imran Khan said that you should know why I am on the streets at the age of 70, the only reason I am marching is because you are like my children and I want you to be educated and know the real truth. What is freedom?

He said that Mr. Chief Justice, protection of fundamental rights is your job. The nation is looking up to you. He further said that action is taken against custodial violence around the world.

The long march started from Shahdara and reached Ferozwala. The participants of the long march will also be welcomed at Sadhoki, the destination of the long march on the second day is Kamonki. Imran Khan addressed the public at Shahdara and Ferozwala.

PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Umar Ayub, Fawad Chaudhry, Shahbaz Gul accompanied the former prime minister on the main container.

Meanwhile, reacting to the alleged video, Gandapur warned the home minister about the PTI’s response that “they [coalition government] attack party leaders.”

“They are threatening to kill us but I want to tell you that we are not cowards,” he said, adding that PTI is marching for freedom and when it achieves its goal. It will stop only then. He called Sanaullah and said, “You are not James Bond. Rather, you are the servant of the people.
