In his address to the march participants in Merdeka, Imran Khan responded to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s claim of talks on the appointment of the new army chief, saying that he does not talk to “boot polishers”.

Imran said that I spoke to those with whom Shahbaz had hidden in the trunk of the car. He also questioned why he would send a message to the Prime Minister.

The former prime minister also said that he was not brought up in a “military dictator’s nursery”.

“I don’t call Ayub Khan daddy like Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. I am not like Nawaz Sharif who built General Jilani’s house and bowed to General Ziaul Haq to become a minister.

On the Indian media’s coverage of the attack on the army personnel, the PTI chief told the neighboring country’s media that his party stands with the army.

“I have come to power by the power of the people and not because of the establishment,” Khan claimed, adding that he only wanted the rule of law in the country and protection of people’s rights.

Continuing his attacks on the coalition government, the PTI chief said that former dictator Pervez Musharraf had harmed the country by giving NRO to these parties.
