ISLAMABAD: The administration of the federal capital has decided to completely secure all non-traditional routes connecting Islamabad with adjoining areas from tomorrow (Tuesday) in view of PTI’s long march which will reach the suburbs on Thursday.
For this purpose, trained snipers will be deployed in the Margalla hills and adjoining hilly areas that form the border of the federal capital. This will make criminal movement through the routes impossible. New and tougher measures have been taken in the wake of the Ali Amin Gandapur audio leak, which has seen law enforcement agencies deploy a huge cache of weapons just outside Islamabad.
Informed sources told that for the first time trained and highly skilled snipers are being deployed at these locations as some PTI leaders are planning to use war tactics. The Gandapur audio tape has created a wave of fear and panic in Islamabad. “The administration is committed to keeping the city free from any fear and danger during all these days. All possible steps will be taken to ensure law and order in the city,” the sources added.
He said that the capital’s diplomatic community is appalled by the situation and has shared its concerns with the relevant authorities.
