Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is leaving for a two-day official visit to China on Tuesday at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang.
A high-level delegation including Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto will also accompany him.
The Prime Minister will meet President Xi Jinping and hold delegation-level talks with Premier Li Keqiang.
The two sides will review the All Weather Strategic Cooperation Partnership and exchange views on regional and global developments.
This will be Shahbaz Sharif’s first visit to China after assuming power in April this year.
His visit represents a continuation of ongoing leadership-level exchanges between Pakistan and China.
Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said during a briefing in Beijing that China warmly welcomes Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit.
He said that China is looking forward to further advance high-level strategic cooperation with Pakistan and bring more fruitful results of Pakistan-China friendship in the interest of both peoples.
The spokesman said that no matter how international or domestic conditions change, China Pakistan friendship continues from generation to generation.
He said that the two countries have always supported each other on issues related to their important interests and are standing together.
