The petition filed in the Lahore High Court for the removal of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan was accepted for hearing.

Justice Muhammad Sajid Mehmood Sethi will hear the case on Thursday, November 3. The case has been listed in the urgent cause list.

Petitioner Advocate Muhammad Afaq filed a petition in the Lahore High Court on Wednesday stating that the ECP has disqualified Imran Khan. Therefore, he had no legal standing to continue as PTI chairman.

The petitioner requested the court to remove Imran Khan from the post of chairman PTI and order the party to appoint a new chairman.

He named ECP and others as defendants in the case.

On 21 October, the ECP disqualified Imran Khan for public office after he was found guilty of corruption.

Imran then approached the Islamabad High Court to withdraw the ECP’s disqualification decision.
