After Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was charged as one of the alleged orchestrators of the gun attack in Wazirabad on Thursday, Federal Home Minister Rana Sanaullah allowed the first investigation to be completed. The charges were dismissed without giving.

The interior minister was referring to a video statement issued by PTI Secretary General Asad Umar on Thursday in which he made allegations on behalf of Imran Khan Sanaullah, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and a senior military official.
Sanaullah said that this statement is highly condemnable.
He asked the PTI leadership to listen again to the alleged confession of a man caught from the crime scene with a handgun.
Sanaullah reminded PTI that the man was caught by a PTI supporter while another supporter lost his life in the incident. Moreover, this person was arrested by the Punjab Police and his video statement was also leaked by the Punjab Police.
He reminded the PTI leadership that their coalition government in Punjab is responsible for security.
He said that your government and police are not ours in Punjab.

Referring to the stone pelting and vandalism at his house in Faisalabad, the apparently disgruntled interior minister warned PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry of dire consequences for his statements regarding the attack on the homes of coalition government leaders.
“If you fan the flames of violence, you too will burn in it,” warned Sanaullah.
He added that it was the PTI that was politicizing the incident and using it for its own interests and inciting people to violence.
He reminded that “Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leadership including PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have condemned the assassination attack on PTI Chairman Imran Khan”.
He further said that on the direction of Prime Minister Shehba, his ministry has directed the Chief Secretary Punjab and the Chief of Police to form a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) comprising senior officials to submit a report on the incident and make the investigation process transparent. “The federal home ministry has assured the Punjab government of any assistance required in the investigation process,” he added.
