Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday advised the armed forces to continue serving the nation with the same spirit and determination under any circumstances.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the army chief’s comments came as part of farewell tours of various formations during his visit to Sialkot and Mangala Garrison.

The COAS commended the formations for their excellent performance during various operations, training and natural calamities.

Earlier on arrival in Sialkot, Lt. Gen. Mohammad Amir welcomed the Army Chief and Lt. Gen. Ayman Bilal Safdar received him at Mangala Garrison.

‘Concentrate on professional duties’
Just a day ago, the army chief had directed the soldiers to always focus on their professional duties in the service of the nation.

The COAS expressed these views on his arrival at Corps Headquarters Peshawar, where he laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial.

Later, the COAS addressed the officers and men of the Peshawar Corps, where he appreciated its monumental efforts in achieving peace and stability.

“We are indebted to the sacrifices of our martyrs who provided a safe and conducive environment for socio-economic development in the newly merged districts in particular and KP in general,” COAS said.

Earlier, Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Hasan Azhar Hayat welcomed the Army Chief on his arrival at the Corps Headquarters.
