Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and her Pakistani cricketer husband Shoaib Malik have recently become the talk of the town after rumors of their divorce did the rounds on social media.
According to a report in JEE News, the couple – who were together for the past 12 years and share a four-year-old son – have separated and are co-parenting their child together.
The publication mentioned that it tried to reach Sania’s management team for a comment but they declined the request. Similarly, JEE News contacted former cricket captain Malik to confirm this news, but he did not respond despite seeing the message.
While fans are eagerly waiting to know the truth, the couple has remained silent on the matter so far. But amidst all the rumours, Sania posted a new snapshot on her Instagram account.
In the picture, she can be seen out for a walk in her gym wear. The 35-year-old can be seen smiling in the picture. However, she refrained from captioning the photo with words and instead used a few emojis – two palm trees and two hands forming a heart shape.
In less than 15 minutes after going live, the snapshot garnered over 23,000 likes and over 200 messages.
In the comments section, fans questioned the player about his possible departure but got no response.
This is not the first time that the news of Sania and Malik’s separation has gone viral, something similar happened in 2012. But for now the news is just speculation, so nothing definitive can be said until the couple makes an official announcement.
