Manchester United beat Fulham in a thrilling final Premier League match ahead of the Qatar World Cup, grabbing a dramatic 93rd-minute winner through a substitute.

In the second half at Craven Cottage, Fulham grabbed a point before the 18-year-old Argentine raced past Bernd Leno and fired into the bottom corner.

Fulham’s Dan James had earlier come off the bench to grab an equalizer from Tom Cairney’s low cross to give the hosts a well-deserved point after a number of fine saves from David De Gea.

Christian Eriksen, who suffered a heart attack during Denmark’s Euro 2020 match against Finland in June 2021, put the visitors ahead with his first United goal in the first half, following a low cross from Bruno. Slided to finish on the post. Fernandes.

But Garnacho’s winner with practically the last kick of the match gave United the three points.

The Premier League now takes a six-week break due to the Qatar World Cup, which starts on November 20, with no domestic top-flight matches until December 26.

The win leaves United fifth, 11 points behind leaders Arsenal and three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham, with Antonio Conte’s side a game in hand.

Fulham have either been promoted to or relegated from the Premier League in each of the previous five seasons, but are well placed to end that up-and-down run as they sit ninth, having already matched the five wins they gained in their previous top-flight campaign in 2020-21.
