After receiving several complaints, the Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority (IHRA) sealed more than 300 clinics and hospitals where people were pretending to be medical practitioners.

Raids were conducted in various remote areas of the capital under the supervision of IHRA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Quaid Saeed.

At least 318 private clinics have been sealed, including laboratories and pharmacies.

Services of 205 laboratories and private hospitals have also been suspended during the operation. However, FIRs have been registered against fake medical practitioners to arrest the suspects, the IHRA CEO said.

He said that the fake doctor was treating patients without PMDC license. The team inspected the clinic and the medicines kept there. No one will be allowed to play with human lives.

He further said that piracy is a serious problem in Pakistan.

He asked the citizens of Islamabad not to go to illegal medical practitioners to save their money and health. “No one will be allowed to play with the lives of citizens,” he warned, adding that the law would take its course if anyone was found involved in this nefarious business.
