ISLAMABAD: Expelled PTI leader and former minister Faisal Vawda on Thursday claimed that “some people” want to replace party chief Imran Khan.

A former member of the Khan-led party, while speaking on Geo News’ program Capital Talk, hinted at splits and conspiracies in PTI ranks.

Without naming anyone, Vavda said: “All three snakes are aspirants for the prime minister’s post.”

“Two confidants and three snakes created differences between Khan and the establishment,” the former minister said.

“I almost managed to settle things between Khan and the establishment,” he shared, commenting on the ongoing rift.

In response to a question posed by Khan about the alleged extension offer to Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the former minister asked, “If General Bajwa was part of the troublemakers and handlers, he How did you become good overnight?

Praising the COAS, the expelled PTI leader said he had shown patience despite the trolls and smear campaign against him.

“Khan was hit by a pistol shot while [the PTI supporter who lost his life] Moazzam was hit by a Kalashnikov bullet,” he claimed.

He added that the post-mortem report of Muazzam would reveal that he was hit by a Kalashnikov bullet.

Responding to another question about the next general elections in the county, Vawda said “we” are demanding elections in May while the PDM has agreed to hold elections in October.

‘Shahzad Akbar Puppet’
The former minister added that Shahzad Akbar was a puppet and used to spend many hours in the PTI chief’s principal secretary Azam Khan’s office.

“I used to tell Khan that Akbar would run away,” he lamented, adding that Khan had “blind faith in his people.”

He predicted that the Senate Chairman and Deputy Chairman would be removed soon. The expelled PTI leader bade him an early farewell.

Vavda stressed the need to root out the conspirators around Khan. He added, “People are standing with Khan in displeasure of PDM.”

He advised Khan not to repeat the mistakes of MQM founder and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.
