Jaya Bachchan appeared in the new episode of the podcast What the Hell Nuya along with daughter Shweta Bachchan and Nuya Naveli Nanda. He asked a few questions, one of which was how Indian women choose to wear western clothes.
During the conversation, Jaya asked the two women accompanying her, “Why is that, I want to ask you both that Indian women wear more western clothes?”, to which Navia replied, “I don’t know.” .’ While Shweta said, “I think it’s because of the ease of movement. Elaborating on what she thinks about it, Jaya said, “I feel that what happened was very unintentional, we accepted that western wear is more… it makes a woman Gives male power. I would love to see a woman. in female power. I’m not saying wear a saree this is just an example but I think even in the west women always wear dresses.
To which Shweta said, “Yes with the industrial revolution and when all the men went off to war and the women started working in factories. So they had to wear pants because you can’t work with a heavy machine.
