London: Members of the Sharif family, including PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz, left for Europe on Monday for a 10-day vacation.

Sources added that the purpose of the visit was purely for entertainment.
Mr Sharif is said to be traveling on a diplomatic passport which was issued to him by the government last week. His passport expired last year, during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf government, which said it would revoke the passport.
It is learned that Mr. Sharif did not apply for renewal at that time because he knew that the government would not issue a new passport.
Nawaz Sharif was given a normal passport after Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan was removed from power following a no-confidence vote in April this year.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) cleared Mr. Sharif last week and allowed him to obtain a diplomatic passport with a five-year validity.
Diplomatic passports are issued to state dignitaries, diplomats and other entitled categories as per para 45 of Part-I of Passport and Visa Manual, 2006. Diplomatic passports are also issued to former prime ministers and their dependent children. Approval of diplomatic passports is the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Separately, sources said Mr Sharif had withdrawn an appeal filed at the Immigration Tribunal, in which he had challenged the Home Office’s decision to refuse him an extension of his stay in the UK.
The Home Office decision came last August, but gave Mr Sharif the opportunity to appeal, which meant he was allowed to remain in the UK legally until he had exhausted all avenues of appeal. .
