Virginia: Chesapeake Police Public Information Officer Leo Kosinski said at a media briefing that a shooting at a Walmart in Chesapeake, Virginia, left multiple people dead and injured Tuesday night, and the shooter was dead.
At 10:12 p.m., police responded to a report of shots fired inside the Walmart at Sam’s Circle, Kosinski said, without giving an exact number, killing “less than 10” people.

It is not yet clear if the shooter died of self-inflicted wounds. Kosinski added that “to his knowledge” no shots were fired at police.
“Chesapeake Police have confirmed an active shooter incident with fatalities at the Walmart on Sam’s Circle. The shooter has died,” the City of Chesapeake said.
Walmart and the police department did not immediately respond to JEE News request for comment.
