KARACHI: A man was robbed of $50,000 (Rs 11.2 million) by robbers while returning home after withdrawing money from a bank in Karachi’s Clifton area on Thursday.
According to reports, Zulfiqar Ali, who returned to Pakistan from abroad on November 19, was on his way home after withdrawing cash from a bank located in Block 5 of Clifton, when unknown armed men on two motorcycles stopped him and robbed him of $50,000. The cash was stolen by him. Meanwhile, the accused managed to escape from the spot.
Zulfiqar Ali told reporters that I returned to Karachi from abroad on November 19 and contacted the bank on November 21 to withdraw the money. The bank management handed over this amount on November 24.
The citizen said that when he approached the boat basin, the robbers deprived him of his hard earned money. Police officials said that a case has been registered in this regard at Boat Basin Police Station. Officials say that the police are investigating the case from all angles.
