Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has reached the venue of the party’s power show in Rawalpindi after arriving in Islamabad for the ‘climax’ of the Real Azadi March and will address his first public gathering. . Shortly after being injured in a gun attack.

The ousted prime minister landed at Noor Khan Airbase in a chartered plane from Lahore and was accompanied by a team of doctors and his nephew Ahmed Khan Niazi.

From there, Imran went to the helipad to go to Rawalpindi and later reached the helipad of Barani University. They are expected to leave for the rally venue soon.

The video of the helicopter taking Imran to Rawalpindi was shared on social media.

Clash in Faizabad

PTI workers tried to cross the Faizabad bridge – which was barricaded with containers – and reach the rally. However, Islamabad police removed the workers from the bridge.

Police officials said Section 144, which prohibits public gatherings, is in force in Islamabad and no one is allowed to pass in the form of a rally. PTI workers were present on the express highway.

Soon after, the containers were removed to open the way from Faizabad Bridge to Murree Road.

Caravans reached Rawalpindi.

Convoys of PTI leaders, activists and supporters left for Rawalpindi on Saturday for the ‘climax’ of the real Azadi March, where party chief Imran Khan is scheduled to attend despite being injured.

PTI Secretary General Asad Umar announced that several convoys from across Pakistan have reached Garrison City, while other groups are making their way to the venue.

He said the gathering would be “historic”.

PTI Senator Faisal Javed came on stage at the venue and said that “Captain” Imran Khan will announce whether the rally will sit at the designated place or move ahead.

He said that the real freedom march has entered a decisive phase today.

In a video message, Senator Azam Swati said that true freedom is reaching its destination.

He said that all the characters of the change of government will be disgraced by God and this caravan of real freedom is not going to stop.

Before the march, former interior minister Sheikh Rashid addressed a crowd outside Lal Haveli in his hometown of Rawalpindi and hoped to rid Pakistan of “thieves, bandits and looters who have taken over the country”.

He compared those who supported Imran to those who stood with Fatima Jinnah against military leader Ayub Khan while he “had the support of many politicians”.

Rashid said that he will leave from his residence at 1.30 pm to receive Imran Khan by helicopter at Jalsa Gah.
