MNA Mohsin Dawar stopped at Islamabad Airport before departing for International.

National Democratic Movement (NDM) MNA Mohsin Dawar was detained at the Islamabad International Airport on Sunday as he left for Tajikistan to attend the Herat Security Dialogue.

According to details, the member of the National Assembly was stopped by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) before his international departure.

Meanwhile, Dawar said his name has been removed from the Exit Control List (ECL) for two months with the approval of the federal cabinet.

“I think they [FIA] were informed in advance [about my departure],” he said.

Giving further details, the MNA said he was told that his name was on the no-fly list whenever the counter was approached. He said he told the authorities that his name had been removed from the ECL but said he was told not to be allowed out of the country.

Along with Dawar, MNA Ali Wazir and some other party leaders are facing rioting, inflammatory speech and other charges in four identical cases registered in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth, Shah Latif Town and Boot Basin police stations.

The said cases are under Sections 147 (rioting), 149 (every member of an unlawful assembly guilty of the offense of prosecuting public objection), 500 (punishment for defamation), 505 (statement inciting public disorder) and others. has been entered. Sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) read with Section 7 (punishment for acts of terrorism) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
