LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leaders said on Saturday that PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s announcement to dissolve the assemblies was actually an admission of his failure, as his long march proved to be a failed show.
Reacting to Imran Khan’s speech, various PMLN leaders said that the Rawalpindi rally was merely a face-saving operation, and that Imran Khan, who had earlier announced the capture of Islamabad, had called off all the assemblies. Announced resignations. He said that Imran Khan’s speech was the speech of a loser.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said PTI chairman Imran Khan “cannot dissolve both [Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab] assemblies”.
He said that Khan will not be able to decide to dissolve the assemblies. He said that if no-confidence motion was presented in these assemblies, Tehreek-e-Insaf could not do so. “No way! A vote of no confidence can be brought in the provincial assemblies any time without wasting time. The opposition clearly has the numbers to form a government in Punjab province.
The home minister asked if he thought the opposition would sit back and watch, adding that elections should be held on time and assemblies should remain intact.
Sanaullah said Khan’s decision to dissolve the assemblies was his “declaration of defeat”. He said that Khan decided against marching towards Islamabad because people were not coming to the rally, adding that he announced to leave the assemblies only to avoid embarrassment.
Rana Sanaullah said that the politics of pressure groups has died today. He said that now the politics of blackmail and pressure has ended. PTI Chairman Imran Khan first made an aerial observation of the rally from a helicopter. When he saw that people were not showing up, he announced the dissolution of the assemblies as a punishment to the two chief ministers.
PMLN Central Vice President Maryam Nawaz tweeted: “The most failed long march, one drama and lie after another, but the truth is that Imran’s 9-year plan, plan to topple the government through conspiracy, his own. A plan to bring in a favorite army chief. A plan to interfere with the appointment of a new army chief and a plan to make the new chief controversial, all failed miserably. This is the end of conspiracies!
Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq said that Imran Niazi used to announce resignations from the assemblies but he did not do so. He said that the PTI chief has played his last card which will damage his own politics.
He said that in the past, Imran repeatedly urged the judiciary, NAB, FIA and other national institutions to play an unconstitutional, illegal and undemocratic role and they have not stopped till today. So the IMF was misled.
Federal Minister Khurram Dastgir said that failed fascists. Sitting on the chair of the local government of Potohar town, the four are using the government resources of the provincial governments and calling others thieves. There is no point in coming out of assemblies. “Never, never will the fascists dissolve the provincial governments,” he claimed.
Federal Minister Mian Javed Latif, to get out of the deadlock of his failed march, said that Imran Khan wanted face-saving, which he could not get, so he had to talk to the assemblies to resign. He said that he will never make the mistake of leaving the assemblies and if he resigns from the assemblies, we will use our constitutional powers.
