PTI Chairman Imran Khan has announced that his party will quit all assemblies to pressurize Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif-led government for early elections.
The party – which has announced a long march to Islamabad – is yet to make a final announcement, which is expected next week.
As a result, hundreds of seats will remain vacant after the resignations of PTI and its allies are accepted, and the only way to fill these seats is through elections.
After Khan’s announcement, PTI senior vice president Fawad Chaudhry tweeted that elections will be held on a total of 563 seats across Pakistan, including 123 seats in the National Assembly, 297 in Punjab, 115 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 26 in Sindh. . and Balochistan.

With many seats vacant and elections to follow, the cost of the elections is expected to be astronomical.
About 80 million to 100 million rupees will be required to conduct elections to a National Assembly seat, while elections to a provincial assembly seat will cost about 60 million to 70 million rupees.
In case of dissolution of the Assembly, elections shall be held only for the respective Assembly. According to JEE News, if a seat remains vacant, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is bound to hold elections within 60 days.
If the PTI and its allies vacate all the seats in the National and Provincial Assemblies, the cost of the by-elections will reach around Rs 36 billion.
