LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Pervaiz Elahi said that the opposition will remain in the minority in the Punjab Assembly as the coalition government of PTI and Muslim League (Q) has a strong majority of 191 in the assembly.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the opposition can bring a no-confidence motion if it wants.
Chief Minister Punjab PBA Chairman Shakeel Masood Hussain, Secretary General Mian Amir Mehmood, Naz Afrin Sehgal and Chairman Nai Baat Media Network Chaudhry Abdul Rahman were talking to the delegation who met the Chief Minister at the Chief Minister’s Office.
Elahi expressed his best wishes for the newly elected PBA chairman and officials. He hoped that the new body would utilize all its capabilities for the development of the media industry.
The Punjab Chief Minister said that he stands with PTI Chairman Imran Khan and when Khan says so, the Punjab Assembly will be dissolved immediately. He said that we are always ready to dissolve the assembly on the instructions of Imran Khan.
The number of members of PTI and Muslim League (Q) in Punjab Assembly is 191. The opposition is in the minority and will remain in the minority. He said that the opposition can only raise slogans. It is not their job to bring a no-confidence motion. They can bring a motion of no confidence if they want.
If the Assembly is in session, there can be no vote of no confidence and no vote of confidence. Governor’s rule cannot be imposed if the Assembly is in session,” he explained and asserted that everything was being done within the limits of the Constitution and the law.
