An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Gujranwala on Tuesday granted a 13-day remand to PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s suspected shooter Naveed, who is the prime suspect in the Wazirabad murder attack.

After remanding the accused, in a written order, the court expressed displeasure as the police did not file a report against those responsible for keeping the accused in “illegal custody”.
“No action was taken against [police officers] who detained the suspect for 10 days,” the court said, adding that despite being arrested on the same day of the attack, police arrested Naveed nearly two weeks later. Presented in court.
The court order said that at the next hearing, a report on the persons responsible for the illegal imprisonment of the accused should be submitted, otherwise the head of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the incident should be personally presented before the ATC. Must appear.

Accused Naveed has been named in the First Information Report (FIR) under Sections 302 (punishment for murder), 324 (attempt to murder), 440 (mischief done with intent to cause death or hurt). ) Section 7 (punishment for terrorism) of Pakistan Penal Code and Anti-Terrorism Act 1997.
On November 3, the PTI chief narrowly escaped an assassination attempt when Naveed allegedly shot him from the left side of a container during the Long March and tried to escape. However, they were stopped by a Khan supporter who abandoned his objective.
The gun attack left Khan with bullet wounds and lacerations to his lower limbs – he has yet to recover from them, but the bandages have been removed.
Another case against Naveed
The main accused in the shooting case is also facing another case of possession of arms without license, which was registered today at the City Wazirabad police station.
He was produced before the District Magistrate’s Court in Wazirabad. After the hearing, the court approved Naveed’s 14-day judicial remand.
The judicial magistrate said that the accused should be produced in the court on December 12.
