Federal Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar announced on Wednesday that the price of petrol in Pakistan will remain at Rs 224.80 per liter for the next fortnight from December 1 to 15.
In a video address, Dar said that the price of high-speed diesel will also remain at Rs 235.30 per litre.
He announced that the price of kerosene has been reduced by 10 rupees per liter and the price of light diesel by 7 rupees 50 paise per liter. This decision was taken after the disaster caused by floods in the country and the onset of winter.

The finance minister disclosed that this decision has been taken on the direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to provide maximum relief to the low income section of Pakistan.
The new rates for the next fortnight will be effective from December 1.

It should be noted that the last time the government had reduced the price of petrol by 12 rupees 63 paise per liter was on September 30, which brought great relief to the people of Pakistan who were suffering from inflation.
Extension of tax filing date
The finance minister also announced the extension of the date for submission of tax returns, after which citizens will be able to submit taxes till December 15.
The Finance Minister revealed that the decision has been taken keeping in mind the demand of the business community.
This is the third extension. Earlier, the board had extended the date for filing income tax returns for individuals and companies till November 30.
