LAHORE: Punjab’s Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Sunday filed a First Information Report (FIR) against PTI leader Aleem Khan for allegedly using forged documents to sell government-owned land.
According to the FIR, Aleem sold government-owned land with the help of officials from the Finance Department, Lahore Development Authority and Irrigation Department.
ACE Punjab had started proceedings against Aleem after registering a case against him. The former provincial minister is allegedly accused of selling government land as the owner of Vision Developer Company. LDA director Shafqat Niaz has also been named in the FIR.
The provincial anti-corruption watchdog had submitted a report recommending action against the accused on November 3, while officials said that arrests are expected soon. The ACE report alleged that valuable government land was sold to the public using “forged, bogus and bogus” allotment letters, prepared by office holders of Parkview City/Vision developers in connivance with government officials. .
The FIR was registered against Aleem Khan, owner of Parkview City/Vision Developers, his wife Kiran Aleem Khan and their daughter as office holders of the organisation. Shoaib Siddique and Atif Iftikhar were also named in the case.
Javed Shehbaz, sub-engineer of the irrigation department, Shafqat Niaz, director of LDA, and Haji Asghar, patwari of Mauza Shahpur Kanjran, were also named in the case. These officials were accused of preparing fake documents along with Aleem Khan.
The ACE report said that all relevant documents, including forged letters, have been taken into custody.
The canal/skip channel lands in Mauza Balagarhi and Mauza Kattar Bandh areas of Lahore were shown as part of Parkview City through fake documents, even though the land belonged to the government, the report said. The total area illegally occupied is more than 100 kanals.
