A Texas woman has been arrested after setting her boyfriend’s house on fire, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said. Cenaida Marie Soto, 23, broke into her boyfriend’s family home shortly before 2 a.m. and set the house on fire after stealing several items from the home, police said.
Ms. Soto was arrested on charges of burglary and arson in a settlement, police wrote in a news release posted on Facebook.
“Soto had Face Timed her boyfriend when another woman, who later turned out to be a relative of the boyfriend, answered her phone,” police said.
Enraged, the woman set a sofa on fire in the living room and quickly the whole house caught fire. “When the house caught fire, video was recorded and showed him setting the sofa on fire which spread, engulfing the house in flames, as well as causing over $50,000 in damage.” . .
According to JEE News, Ms. Soto FaceTimed her ex-boyfriend with a chair on fire inside her home. She told him, “I hope your stuff goes well,” and then ended the call.
According to the news release, the Fire Marshal’s Office assisted BCSO in the investigation of the fire and BCSO issued two warrants for the arrest of Seneda Soto.
Ms. Soto was arrested Monday, at approximately 2:30 a.m., on charges of burglary, habitation force, a second-degree felony, and arson, a first-degree felony.
