Amid allegations of irregularities, re-polling will be held in 15 districts of Sindh today.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken necessary steps to re-poll in 15 districts of Sindh in response to allegations of irregularities in the previous local elections.

The elections will be held today [March 26] and will cover the seats of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Member District Council and General Members. The move is aimed at dispelling concerns and allegations of irregularities in the previous elections. Additionally, the Supreme Court (SCP) and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) have given directions for re-polling.

A total of 109,687 registered voters will cast their votes in 15 districts, including 59,310 male and 50,377 female voters.

Local government elections will be conducted with the help of 15 District Returning Officers, 26 Returning Officers and 52 Assistant Returning Officers. A total of 81 polling stations have been set up in the districts, including separate stations for men and women as well as joint stations.

There will be a total of 275 polling booths for the upcoming local elections in 15 districts of Sindh. Of these booths, 140 are reserved for male voters, 135 for female voters, while the remaining 275 booths are shared and open to both sexes.

The decision to conduct re-polling is an important step towards upholding the principles of democracy and ensuring transparency in the electoral process. The districts that will hold re-polling include Jacobabad, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Larkana, Qamber Shahdadkot, Sukkur, Khairpur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Umarkot, Tharparkar, Hyderabad, Jamshoro and Badin.
