Earthquake tremors were felt in different areas of Bajaur, Lower Dir and Karam. The earthquake, measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale, was centered in the Hindu Kush at a depth of 186 km.

According to the National Seismic Monitoring Center, previous tremors shook several urban centers including Lahore, Rawalpindi and Peshawar. The earlier earthquake was centered at a depth of 196 km in the Hindu Kush Range, which straddles the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan.

Eyewitnesses have narrated the scenes of residents running out of their houses in a state of panic after the tremors of the earthquake.

Earthquake tremors were also felt in Bannu, DI Khan, Swat, Diamer, Chilas, Nowshera, Mansehra, Lower Dir, Upper Dir Bala, Mianwali and Malakand. The earthquake was not limited to Pakistan’s borders, as strong tremors were also felt in and around India’s capital, Delhi.

JEE News confirmed that aftershocks on Saturday night were felt in various parts of northern India, particularly parts of India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Punjab.
