Entrepreneur Ashneer Grover revealed in a recent interview that he once rejected Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma as brand ambassadors.
During the conversation, Ashner revealed that he was once discussing an IPL deal with a few brokers and wanted his brand ad printed on the back of the players’ jerseys. The broker advised them to consider Virat to promote the brand instead of all 11 players.
The entrepreneur added: “Kohli asked for an amount, which I won’t reveal here, it would be a crime. He also offered Anushka as a package deal, and I said I don’t want to repeat that.” The maneuver has been done before. So, I asked if they could get me 11 other players, half of what Kohli demanded. And that’s the deal I finally struck.”
He added: “I don’t have a single picture with any of them, I didn’t even go for the shoot. I have a picture talking to Kohli recently. And I told him about the story. He said that this is a very good business.
Grover also recalled the incident when he wanted to get Salman Khan on board for one of his projects. But he admitted that he really wanted Khan as the brand ambassador but didn’t want to spend a lot of money, reports JEE News.
