The body of journalist Arshad Sharif, who was killed by Kenyan police on Sunday, will be flown to Pakistan today, family and government officials confirmed.
According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sharif’s body is being brought back home from Nairobi on Monday evening.
His body will first be brought to Doha, Qatar. He will then be flown to Islamabad by a different flight and will reach Pakistan late on Tuesday.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Kenya Saqlain Saida was overseeing the arrangements for Sharif’s final journey at Nairobi Airport.
Funeral
Confirming the arrival of Sharif’s body in Pakistan on Tuesday, his wife Jawaria said that he will be laid to rest at Islamabad’s H-11 graveyard on Thursday.
