ISLAMABAD: Former Secretary General of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Asad Umar discussed the status of his communication with influential Punjab politician Jahangir Tareen and former Senior Vice President of the party Fawad Chaudhry.

According to the party leader, Tareen did not contact him. However, Fawad maintains regular contact. Omar’s revelation sheds light on the current dynamics and relationships of existing PTI politicians and defectors, as key figures navigate their roles and interactions in the country’s political landscape.

Umar’s statement came during an informal exchange with reporters after he left the district court in Islamabad, where he was charged with rioting in the federal capital’s judicial complex during the appearance of party chairman Imran Khan in March. I came to take interim bail. In the Tosha Khana case

Several months after the case was registered in the federal capital’s Tarnool police station, the politician has been granted bail in the relevant case. When he was asked whether he would join Tareen’s party, he said, “What is my affiliation with Jahangir Tareen?”

He was then asked whether the senior politician had approached him, to which he replied in the negative. Jahangir Tareen has not contacted yet. The PTI leader said that while he has been out of jail for the past seven to eight days, he has been making the rounds of the courts. He told reporters that only the former senior vice-president of the party had contacted him.

He said that Fawad Chaudhry is in touch with me from time to time. Meanwhile, on Friday, he denied being part of Fawad’s plan. A journalist then asked Umar about the agenda of former party member Faisal Vawda. “Ask that question to Faisal Vawda,” he replied.

Unlike other PTI leaders, who left the party on May 9 following nationwide riots triggered by Khan’s arrest in a £190 million settlement case, Umar chose to stick with the party. However, on 24 May, he resigned as its Secretary General and also left the Core Committee. The former minister has repeatedly denied leaving PTI and joining another party. “I’m in the party, no matter how many times you ask [the same question],” he said last week.

Meanwhile, senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser on Monday clarified that he stands by the party and is currently in touch with Chairman Imran Khan. The former speaker of the National Assembly made these remarks after reaching the Islamabad court to attend the hearing of the case related to vandalism outside the judicial complex in the federal capital.

After PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa former president Pervaiz Khattak announced his resignation from the party post in a joint press conference, Qaiser’s status was unclear whether he had left the party or not, during which the former speaker was also sitting but remained silent. Khattak cited the May 9 disaster as the reason for his decision.

When Asad Qaiser was asked about his current status, he said, “I am with Tehreek-e-Insaaf and in touch with Chairman PTI.” Another journalist asked him whether Jahangir Tareen – who is currently forming a new political party of PTI defectors – had contacted him or not, the PTI leader replied. , “No contact with Jahangir Tareen”. When pressed about Fawad Chaudhry’s claim, Qaiser insisted that he was with the PTI. The former information minister and party spokesperson claimed to have contacted Qaiser and other party leaders.
