Asif Zardari’s recommendation on appointment of COAS will be number one, Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD: Before Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s decision to make important appointments to the top positions of the army, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said on Wednesday that the summary of the appointment of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) will be presented by President Dr. Arif today. Alavi will be sent. Asif Ali Zardari’s proposal is also included.

The Federal Minister said that former President and Co-Chairman of People’s Party Zardari gave a good suggestion which has been included in the updated summary as the first priority.

He said that Zardari’s proposal came during a meeting with the leader of People’s Party and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Khawaja Asif further revealed that the initial timeline set by the concerned authorities was different by a couple of days, adding that the new timetable has been set with the full support of the coalition parties.

He said that I am sure that the summary and advisory will be sent to the President by tomorrow.

Responding to a question that what will happen if the President rejects the summary, Asif said that if the President rejects the summary, there will be uncertainty while the government will suffer a blow and it will be the final defeat of the PTI chief. Imran Khan.”

A few hours ago, Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb revealed that the leaders of all coalition parties have expressed full confidence in Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the appointment of COAS and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC).

The minister disclosed that all the party leaders entrusted the decision of appointments to Prime Minister Shehbaz.

The Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday morning confirmed that it has received a summary from the Ministry of Defense along with a panel of names for the appointment of new COAS and CJCSC.

A short tweet from the Prime Minister’s Office said, “The Prime Minister will decide on the appointments as per the prescribed procedure.”

President Alvi will consult me on important appointments

Meanwhile, the PTI chairman claimed that President Alvi is in touch with him and will consult him on the appointment of two high-ranking posts in the army.

The PTI chief said that I am in touch with the President on the summary of important appointments.

Khan said that he doubted the intention of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif.
