At least 23 people have been killed in a suicide bombing at an educational center in Kabul, police said on Friday.

“Students were preparing for exams when a suicide bomber attacked this educational center. Unfortunately, 23 people were martyred and 27 injured,” said police spokesman Khalid Zadran.

A suicide bombing in a Shiite area of the Afghan capital left 23 people dead and 27 wounded, a Taliban-appointed spokesman for the Kabul police chief said. Interior Ministry spokesperson Abdul Nafee Thakur tweeted, “An educational center named Kaj has been attacked, unfortunately causing casualties and injuries.”

“Security teams have reached the scene. Details of the nature of the attack and casualties will be released later.” Attacks on civilian targets demonstrate the enemy’s inhuman cruelty and lack of moral standards. Bloodied victims are being taken away from the scene.
