Islamabad: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday directed PTI chief Imran Khan to approach a sessions court for interim bail as the Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued a one-day bail order. The matter did not fall under its jurisdiction after the terrorism charges against him were dropped earlier.

The case was heard by ATC judge Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan.

Imran’s lawyer Dr. Babar Awan read out the decision of the Islamabad High Court in which the case file was directed to be sent to the Sessions Court.

The judge said that the police did not produce the case challan in the court, so the defense had to file an interim bail application again in the relevant forum for relief.

The court then maintained that it would be appropriate if the petitioner withdraws his interim bail application from the ATC as the matter does not fall under its jurisdiction after the judgment of the High Court.

After hearing the arguments, the court referred the matter to the session court and disposed of Imran’s bail application.

It may be noted that the capital police registered an FIR against Imran Khan on August 20 after he made controversial remarks against a judge and policemen during a party rally in the capital and later registered a case of ‘terrorism’ against him. had gone.

Later, another case was registered against him for violation of Section 144.
