On Sunday, a cricket umpire named Lucky Raut was killed by a youth named Mona Raut in a heart-wrenching incident at Mahislanda ground under Chaudwar police station.
The reason for the killing was allegedly the umpire’s wrong decision on the no-ball during the match, which was hotly debated between the two teams.
Mona hits Lucky on the head with a bat, knocking him unconscious on the spot.
Despite this, Mona continues the attack and stabs Lucky with a sharp object.
Locals rushed Lucky to the hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.
The incident increased tension in the area. The police were informed and started an investigation.
