Angelina Jolie’s former company is suing her ex-partner Brad Pitt for $250 million for allegedly stealing his wine business.
The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday by Novell LLC, a company founded by Jolie.
The lawsuit claims Jolie’s ex-husband tried to take control of a French winery the couple bought together.
“The former couple bought a 1,300-acre property in southern France in 2008 and invested tens of millions to improve it,” according to the lawsuit.
The Maleficent actor’s former company claims: “Since his ex-wife Angelina Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, Brad Pitt has been at war with her”.
“In lieu of divorce and custody proceedings, Pitt engaged in a multifaceted, years-long scheme to gain control of Chateau Miraval and appropriate the company’s assets for the benefit of himself and his companies and friends,” the suit added. Launched the campaign.”
“Pitt’s alleged scheme meant she would ‘never see a dime’ of Chateau Miraval’s tens of millions of dollars in profits,” the lawsuit said.
Novell LLC claims the Fury actor spent millions of company money on “vanity projects” such as building a $1 million swimming pool and more cash on building a recording studio.
“Novel filed a criminal complaint in France against Bradbury and Venturini for using the assets of Chateau Miraval in bad faith, which they know to be against the interest of the corporation,” the document states. I have been told.
Pitt gave half of the company’s trademark to a friend for free, the lawsuit said.
Pitt’s business associates are also the subject of a lawsuit filed by Novell LLC, according to the cross-complaint.
“Angelina Jolie wanted to sell her half to him when they separated, but Pitt allegedly tried to include false clauses about their fights in the contract,” the lawsuit states.
He eventually sold Nouvel, including his shares in the wine company, to the wine giant Stoli Group.
Court documents accuse Pitt of running the company after the divorce without consulting Jolie.
The purpose of the suit is to seek damages for the illegal and tortious actions of Pitt and his associates to injure Novell by undermining its investment.
