LAHORE: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said on Monday that his government has given special attention to the sectors that promote development in the budget 2023-24.
In a tweet on Monday, the prime minister said. “While experts are analyzing various aspects of the Budget 2023-24, I feel it is important to highlight that the government has given special emphasis in the budget to growth-promoting sectors.”
He further said that measures for the improvement of information technology, agriculture, solarization, youth development and other sectors were proposed after thorough consideration.
The prime minister added that such protections are aimed at encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship of our talented youth and increasing agricultural productivity and attracting investment in the agro industry.
“At the same time, the government is working on solarization initiative to replace the expensive source of electricity generation with solar energy,” claimed Shehbaz and said that affordable energy is the key to economic growth and providing relief to the people.
He added that the purchase of crude oil from Russia was also part of the energy conservation plan. “The point I am making is that despite the constraints imposed by the domestic and global situation, Budget 2023-24 promises to turn things around and lays out a clear path towards that goal of economic self-sufficiency. “Acquisition is an important target where the economy is protected from external disturbances and shocks,” he concluded.
Apart from this, while presiding over the budget review meeting of Punjab here on Monday, the Prime Minister has directed the caretaker provincial government to provide relief to the people in the upcoming budget.
Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, Chief Secretary, Chairman P&D, Secretary Food, Secretary Agriculture and other secretaries also participated in the meeting.
Shahbaz Sharif directed the caretaker government and the civil bureaucracy to give the benefit of the budget to the people. He also asked the caretaker government to complete the ongoing development projects in the province.
