ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar reached Gilgit-Baltistan on Tuesday on a two-day visit and met Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah.
PM Office Media Wing said in a press release that during the meeting, the Governor apprised the Prime Minister about the administrative affairs and law and order situation in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The Governor also thanked the Prime Minister for his visit to Gilgit-Baltistan and his special interest in the development of the region.
Earlier, Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kaka along with Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti and Information Minister Murtaza Solangi laid wreaths at the martyrs’ memorial at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
A well-armed troop of GB Scouts presented a guard of honor to the Prime Minister. He was briefed by Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Mohiuddin Ahmed Wani on various issues. Later, the Prime Minister visited the exhibition of science models by students of local schools, which showed generation of electricity from hydel and solar sources to reduce the effects of climate change.
