In an unusual move, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to move a no-confidence motion against Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.
According to sources, this matter was discussed in the meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif in London.
The PML-N supremo has reportedly agreed to give ‘go-head’ to PML-N legislators in Punjab.
Sources say that the resolution will be presented in 15 days.
The party will consider the name of the next chief minister after the no-confidence vote.
It is worth mentioning that the PML-N has the support of the defected members of the PML-Q and other legislators from South Punjab.
This development has come just days after the two bigwigs of South Punjab politics, Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mehmood and Jahangir Tareen, ended their differences and joined hands.
Pundits see this as a major development in South Punjab politics that could break PTI’s Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s monopoly.
