Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi says that foolproof security will be provided to the participants of PTI’s long march. He said that he is personally inspecting the restoration of public order in the province.
He chaired a meeting in his office on Friday where he discussed the security arrangements for the long march, the march route and deployment of police force.
The Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure foolproof security arrangements for the long march. He further said that special arrangements should be made to maintain law and order on the entire route of the long march.
He asked the concerned departments to ensure full implementation of the security plan. He said that the police and the administration should leave no stone unturned to protect the lives and property of the people.
He directed all concerned departments to work together to maintain law and order. Apart from this, he directed to make alternative arrangements to keep the flow of traffic smooth.
The chief minister ordered the coordination committee to hold meetings on a daily basis and take steps in the context of the situation. He directed that additional police force should be called from other cities immediately and they should be deployed on the roads. He announced that drones and CCTV cameras will continuously monitor the long march.
Moreover, the Chief Minister directed to intensify security arrangements in sensitive areas and provide best food for the policemen posted on the long march route.
He revealed that a comprehensive security plan has been prepared for the long march. He said that the full implementation of the security plan will be ensured and the entire route will be monitored.
