Container of sea food from Pakistan reached China.

BEIJING: In a major development, a truck loaded with cold chain containers carrying seafood from Pakistan has successfully crossed the border by land and reached the city of Kashgar in China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

According to a JEE News report on Friday, this milestone marks the first transport of sea food containers from Pakistan to Kashgar city through CPEC.

A representative of a Pakistani transport company expressed excitement about the milestone, saying, “This is the first attempt at a bilateral cross-border road transport business in partnership with a Chinese firm. Cold chain transport on this route The cost and price is currently being reviewed and our Chinese partners are also looking for more opportunities to import goods from Pakistan.

The representative further highlighted the advantages of road transport, citing significantly lower shipment costs compared to air transport and easier customs clearance procedures. Remarkably, the truck journey took only eight days, while sea transport from Karachi Port to Shanghai’s Yangshan Port usually takes about a month.
