The Federal Cabinet on Friday made a shocking revelation that not only were the audio recordings made public, but now it is known that a copy of the decoded diplomatic Cypher has gone missing from the Prime Minister’s House.
This was disclosed during the federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad on Friday. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over the meeting.
The recent audio leaks were discussed in detail in the meeting statement issued after the meeting.
The meeting was briefed on the diplomatic Cypher and told that this document was found missing from the Prime Minister House records.
Officials detailed that while there is an entry for its receipt, its copy – which is legally considered the property of Prime Minister House – was found missing from PM House records.
Cabinet members expressed strong reservations over the revelation of missing documents and continuous audio of diplomatic Cypher of the former prime minister, former prime minister’s principal secretary and others.
The Cabinet members endorsed the decision of the National Security Committee (NSC) to conduct a full investigation into the matter and set up a special cabinet committee to investigate the matter. The committee will investigate the people involved in this conspiracy including former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Azam Khan and other former ministers and will determine legal action against those involved.
The Cabinet noted that the leaked audios have exposed the criminal conspiracy of the previous government under the guise of diplomatic Cyphers.
The meeting said vital national interests were harmed by the fictitious meaning of the diplomatic Cypher for political gain and it was stolen after “fraud, forgery and forgery”.
This was a gross violation of the constitutional oath and other relevant laws and regulations, particularly the Official Secrets Act. Moreover, it was an unforgivable offense against the state which prioritized only political interests over vital national interests.
Therefore, according to the constitution, law and rules, it was necessary to investigate the matter in detail and punish the culprits strictly according to the law.
The committee also reached a consensus on the submission of a petition by the President to the Supreme Court on the Recodek case.
On the request of the Home Ministry, 3 new names were removed from the Exit Control List (ECL) while 12 names were added.
