“Everything I’ve been fortunate enough to do in my career, from wrestling to film and everything and everything in between, it’s all led to this,” he explained. It’s all because of him and that character.”
The character of Black Adam first appeared in a comic book by Fawcett in 1945. Since the 1970s, the character has been acquired by DC Comics, first as a supervillain and then as a superhero.
In the film, Black Adam, the ancient hero of the fictional country of Khandaq, is released from prison after 5,000 years and is less than happy about such a rude awakening.
“It means a lot to me because you get one shot at a lifetime and I wanted to give it everything I had,” Johnson said. The wrestler-turned-actor also hopes that viewers will connect with the film the way they connected with his childhood character Black Adam.
