ECC approved Rs 15 billion in favor of ECP for FY23.

ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Tuesday approved Rs 15 billion in favor of the Election Commission of Pakistan for the current financial year 2022-23.

This decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Ishaq Dar.

It should be noted that out of 15 billion rupees, 5 billion rupees will be released immediately while the remaining amount will be released in installments upon the utilization of the first installment.

Earlier, the ECC had deferred a grant of Rs 47 billion to the ECP for holding the next general elections, sources told JEE News on November 25 that the ECP would re-submit the summary for the technical grant. .

Additionally, during today’s meeting, the ECC discussed the summary presented by the Ministry of National Food Security and Research on Kisan Package and basic tariff for electric tubewells from R16.60/kWh to Rs13/kWh. Approved at kWh.

Rs 3.60/kWh assistance will be provided to the farmers to compensate the loss due to floods and heavy rains. It will be applicable from November 1.

Meanwhile, the Power Division has submitted another summary on settlement of payments to government power plants on par with Independent Power Producers (IPPs).

The ECC approved a technical supplementary grant of Rs 93.438 billion in three installments of Rs 31.146 billion for these IPPs.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting also presented a summary for budget allocation to launch a comprehensive media awareness campaign about government initiatives, programs and projects.

After detailed discussion, the ECC approved a supplementary grant of Rs 2 billion for media campaign related to floods.
