ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday postponed the indictment of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in the contempt of court case once again as he did not appear before the body.
The four-member bench of the election body, headed by Sindh member of the Election Commission Nisar Ahmad Durrani, repeatedly postponed the indictment against him while refusing to appear before him.
Khan first attended the hearing of the case, which began in August last year. The ECP had initiated proceedings against him and two other former party leaders Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry.
He was accused of allegedly using obscene and insulting language against the Commission and the Chief Election Commissioner during media interactions on various occasions.
